Pain has many causes but more often than not headaches can have their origin in neck dysfunction. This pain can also travel down the neck and into the top of the shoulders and even affect the arms and upper chest. This will also involve muscle tension or sprain.
Chiropractic treatment is aimed at reversing this dysfunction and allowing normal nervous and muscular behaviour. This in turn will reduce the pain and restore normal mechanical function to the area.
These problems can occur from whiplash due to car accident or bad posture, now commonly seen in the computer industry, salesmen and in schoolchildren who carry their books in the wrong sort of bag.
If these problems are left unresolved permanent changes in the posture can develop and arthritis could become a problem. Early treatment is advised because the time to get better depends on how long the problem has existed. The longer the wait the more work there is to do to get you back to normal.
